Improve your golf game with the TPI Screening

PT 360 physical therapist, Sam Kridl, is a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified professional and currently works with golfers at Cherokee Town and Country club in Buckhead to help improve their golf game.  By assessing the body-swing connections through the TPI physical screening Sam is able to analyze how physical limitations in the player’s body can adversely affect their golf swing and potentially lead to poor performance and/or injury.

Once the TPI screening is complete the results are used to create a plan unique for each golfer.  This plan may include a referral to a swing coach, personal trainer for golf specific fitness, or a physical therapist to address musculoskeletal problems.

Muscular imbalances in the body can lead to problems with golf swing biomechanics and are related to loss of mobility or stability.  Loss of mobility or stiffness will cause the golfer to use compensatory patterns to perform the golf swing, leading to decreased swing speed, poor accuracy, and increased risk of injury.  Stability problems such as a weak core or abdominals will promote abnormal movement patterns that ultimately lead to injury.
